Nova Southeastern University’s (“NSU”) Shepard Broad College of Law and the Nova Law Review seek submissions for the Florida Book. The Journal’s first annual publication—the Florida Book—covers legal and policy developments specific to Florida’s jurisdiction. The Nova Law Review has been cited nearly 100 times in federal statutes and nearly 1,500 times in Florida statutes. In addition, the Journal has been cited by the United States Supreme Court, the Florida Supreme Court, and the highest courts of over a dozen states. Notably, in 2007, the Florida Supreme Court, cited to the Florida Book in its efforts to reshape the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure. The court cited to the article entitled Taking the “Sandwich” off of the Menu: Should Florida Depart from Over 150 Years of Its Criminal Procedure and Let Prosecutors Have the Last Word?, written by Nicole Velasco Oden. The Nova Law Review Florida Book continues to be a platform for scholarship, discourse, and advocacy in the Florida legal community.
The Nova Law Review invites academics, scholars, practitioners, post graduate students, and stakeholders to submit proposals for the Florida Book. We aim to publish articles that will contribute to the numerous legal debates and discussions in the state. As a result, articles published in the Florida Book range across a wide variety of topics regarding legal issues in Florida.
