Call for Papers: Deadline Extended to October 24, 2022!
The Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology (JCLC) is excited to be accepting papers for its 2022-2023 Symposium to be held in early 2023, at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago, Illinois.
This year’s symposium will focus on the Rule of Lenity, including its role in the development in criminal law and the important ways in which this principle continues to shape criminal law and criminal justice. The Rule of Lenity is a canon of statutory construction that considers constitutional concerns of due notice, consistent law enforcement, and legislative supremacy.
JCLC maintains an interdisciplinary focus and hopes to welcome authors and articles whose topics include, but are not limited to:
• policing
• restorative justice
• sentencing guidelines
• legislation on privacy and technology-based offenses
• codifying the rule of lenity
• how and where courts use the Rule of Lenity
