The Charleston Law Review is the flagship journal of the Charleston School of Law. We publish four times a year. In the fall, we publish a General Issue and a Student Works Issue. In the spring, we publish a General Issue and a Symposium Issue.
Our journal has been favorably cited numerous times. For example, in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, 597 U.S. ___ (2022), the Court's majority opinion cited an article from our 2018 Symposium Issue. In FCC v. Fox Television Stations Inc., 556 U.S. 502 (2009), Justice Clarence Thomas cited an article from our 2009 General Issue in his concurring opinion. Harvard Law Review cited the same issue of our journal in their Supreme Court 2009 Term Issue. Additionally, the Iowa Supreme Court cited the Charleston Law Review to help shape state common law in Orr v. Mortvedt, 735 N.W.2d 610 (Iowa 2007). In past issues, we have had the honor of publishing articles or forewords from Dean Erwin Chemerinsky, Professor A.E. Dick Howard, and then-President-elect Barack Obama.
We welcome pieces of any length, from essays to articles, addressing a topic of your choice. Authors are asked to submit their manuscripts through Scholastica along with an abstract and CV.
Please contact Zachary Porter, Editor-in-Chief, at Zaporter@charlestonlaw.edu with any questions. Thank you for your time and consideration.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Zachary A. Porter
