Call For Submissions: Cannabis Law, Policy, & Reform

The Southern University Law Review is seeking presenters and articles regarding cannabis law, policy, and reform for our Spring Symposium, which is tentatively titled “It’s Lit: Cannabis Law, Policy, & Reform.” The Symposium aims to be inclusive and varied in its selection of speakers and topics. Accordingly, all those interested are encouraged to apply.

The Southern University Law Review hopes to open channels of discourse on any and all topics pertaining to cannabis. We hope to include scholars, practitioners, and legislators in this dialogue to promote education and awareness. Our Spring Symposium will be open to the public. Cannabis and its derivatives are at the forefront of the public conscience. As a result, its legalization and criminalization often compete between and among the states. In addition to its soothing medicinal value, cannabis contemplates increased tax revenue but, to many, decreased morality. How are corporations and legislators to reconcile this dichotomy?

Please direct all article and presenter submissions to our Symposium Chairperson, Mr. Hayden Carlos, at Hayden_Carlos@sulc.edu. To apply a CV and an abstract (500 words maximum) specifying the area of cannabis law you are addressing and your argument by Friday February 7, 2020.

We will promptly notify presenters and those authors selected for publication. Presenters will be given strong preference as to selections for publication.

This decision rests exclusively with the Editorial Board, who will advise those authors once articles have been selected for publication. We invite your participation and look forward to your submissions.
