Dedication of Our 78th Volume to Justice Elena Kagan
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The New York University Annual Survey of American Law is honored to dedicate its 78th volume to Elena Kagan, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.
Topic:
Elena Kagan has dedicated her career to preserving institutions that are essential to the proper functioning of American democracy. She has championed this cause as an Associate White House Counsel, as Solicitor General, as a law professor and Dean of Harvard Law School, and now as an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court.
In recognition of Elena Kagan’s career as a scholar and public servant, this dedication issue explores topics related to defending democratic institutions. We are seeking paper proposals centered around maintaining and fortifying democratic institutions, the administrative state, and consensus building in the judiciary. Papers selected will be published along with tributes to Elena Kagan written by Sri Srinivasan, David Barron, John Manning, Martha Minow, Richard Pildes, and Yaira Dubin.
